Joshua Lubek, DDS, MD, FACS

Dr. Joshua Lubek is a head and neck surgical oncologist at the University of Maryland where he is a professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery School of Dentistry and adjunct professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery School of Medicine. His clinical interests are focused on head and neck cancer surgery (malignant and benign tumors including salivary gland pathology and thyroid cancer), microvascular reconstructive surgery, transoral robotic surgery and maxillofacial trauma surgery.

Dr. Lubek currently serves as the Director of Hospital Services for the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He served as the past fellowship director for the Head & Neck Surgical Oncology/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery Program. He continues to be actively involved in the training of surgical fellows, residents, dental and medical students. In addition, he is involved with research on head and neck cancer and microvascular surgery, on which he has published more than 90 peer-reviewed publications and lectured both nationally and internationally on these subjects.

Dr. Lubek practiced as an affiliate assistant professor at Oregon Health & Science University and at Head & Neck Surgical Associates in Portland, Oregon. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. A Toronto, Ontario, Canada, native, he received his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Lubek completed both a general surgery internship and an oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He completed a two-year Head & Neck Surgery/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Lubek is board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
